    1068/hd-a2

Hey guys, I noticed something while watching Batman Begins on HD-DVD (HD-A2 player). When I bitstream via Toslink either Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby True HD, my Rotel 1068 indicates the signal is DTS???

Does the 1068 think the signal is DTS due to the higher bandwidth signal or do you think I have something setup incorrectly?

    Thanks,

Actually, that's the nice thing about the A2's that the A3's don't have. It will convert all better then DTS sound formats into full bit-rate DTS signals when you are using the optical/coaxial outputs. So you are getting better sound, don't change anything!

Thanks Kevin D, I thought I had something configured wrong.... So if I understand you correctly, the signal is being converted to DTS at a higher bitrate than regular DTS. So does it matter whether Dolby True HD or Dolby Digital + is selected or do both end up at the same bitrate?

You got it. Of course, a signal with no loss (True-HD) would probably sound better lossy (DTS) then a lossy signal (DD+) converted to another lossy signal.

Of course at this point, you probably wouldn't notice a difference.

How I've added HDMI 1.3 high bitrate audio decoding to my Parasound C1
          by Chris D
Quite a thread title, I guess. Perhaps I should subtitle it, "or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb... I mean, theater."

As the title says, I've added HDMI 1.3 audio decoding to my home theater, centered around the Parasound C1 home theater controller. As...

          RDV-1050 stopped working in DTS???
          by chinets
          Hi Everyone,
I am using a RDV 1050 loaner from my dealer here, because my RDV 1060 had a major manufacturer problem in the laser allignment.
The RVD 1050 loaner was working fine for the past several days with DTS and everyhting.
Now yesterday ,when I tried out a DVD, because...

          DTS-HD & Dolby Digital Plus
          by Chetk
I just wanted to throw this question out there:

What is the likelyhood that the C1 or C2 will be upgraded to support DTS-HD and Dolby Digital Plus? Blu-Ray & HD-DVD have announced (months ago) that these format will be supported.

          Here's information on DTS-HD with a...

Pass DTS HD master and true HD?
          by bokes
How can I get the 1550 to pass DTS HD master and True HD audio through the optical out?

Reason I ask. I have a pair of pioneer wireless surround headphones that I use late at night. There is no issue when I select and play normal DTS or Dolby Digital tracks from blu rays- but last night...
