    Matching 1082 CD/AMP versions for Preamp?

    Hi Everyone,

    I've been eyeing off the RC-1082 Preamplifier and just wondering if a new RCD-1082 CD Player and RB-1082 Stereo Amplifier is due out soon?

      I'm also waiting for a class D amp between the RB-1072 and the RB-1092. I guess I could get the 1092 but I'd rather have something with the same overall sound character for around 1500 bucks or so ...

      I don't care about a "bigger" cd player as the RCD-1072 is quite nice.

      So, anybody heard about an "intermediate" amp?

          I just wanted to give a few comments on the RC-1082 that I obtained recently. I moved my RC-1070 to my bedroom system and replaced it with an RC-1082 in the main system.

          1. Overall the difference is very noticeable, more so than I thought. I had figured that the weakest link...

          I'm putting together a new home theater this year. One question I need answering is I've seen a few high-end set-up's that have intermediate speakers along the side wall.

          Ie Front stage (x2) + centre + rear stage (x2) + rear affects (x2) + sub + intermediate/side speakers...

          Attached are pictures of the spec sheet for the new RC-1082 stereo pre-amp. Unfortunately they were not able to add a HT bypass to the unit.

          If you are upset they didn't add HT bypass, please call Rotel directly and tell them. Please don't clutter the forum posting how you're not going...

          Last year we bought a RA-1062 integrated amplifier after comparing it (blind A/B) to a RC-1070/RB-1072 combo. We heard no difference with the B&W 804S speakers.

          We heard now, that this might have had two reasons:

          - listening volume was not so high...
