    HT intermediate speakers - 7.1

    Hi

    I'm putting together a new home theater this year. One question I need answering is I've seen a few high-end set-up's that have intermediate speakers along the side wall.

    Ie Front stage (x2) + centre + rear stage (x2) + rear affects (x2) + sub + intermediate/side speakers (x2) = 9.1 channel possibilities.

    So obviously the side wall/intermediates don't have a discreet signal. Does anyone know what signal is sent to these in this sort of set-up?
