    Auto detect for HT?

Just curious on what everyone sets their 1068 to for viewing movies.......do you just let the unit auto detect or do you have a preference?

You should always do it yourself (much better results).

Just measure the speaker distances, set it in the unit and then get a SPL meter from Radio Shack and a test disc and measure the levels yourself and balance all the speakers. You'll be amazed at the difference!

Curious if you mean the surround mode (Dolby, DTS...) since the 1068 doesn't have an auto-room setup.

For a 5.1 system I would stick with the standard Dolby-Digital and DTS off of DVDs. Dolby-PLII for any stereo sources.

For 7.1, DD/DTS +PLIIx from DVDs and PLIIx on stereo sources.

I Fixed the Auto detect sound delay! - 1065 receiver
            by Sammy
I posted last week about my new 1065 receiver which took about 2.5 seconds to detect Dolby Digital.

Well, maybe someone can explain how I fixed it, but it all started last night when I noticed a random bass thumping sound in the center channel speaker while using the test tones in Pro...

            Upgrading;Differences 1066/1068/1098
            by rosros
The Rotel web site is updated to include the 1066 replacement, the 1068. They also have the 1068 manual online. Having both 1098 and 1066 inhouse (wished the 1068 was here), I compared features, sound and the manuals for the 1098 to the 1068 to the 1066; here are the differences: Note I own the 1066...

            Denon 2807 Auto Setup (Audyssey)
            by dyazdani
For you techie gurus out there, do you know any specifics about the auto setup/eq features of the Denon receivers, e.g. 2807?

There is a thread on my Porsche forum regarding a receiver recommendation, the guy was planning on a 2807 and several of us suggested looking at Rotel, etc. A...

1068 or Yam RXV2500 as processor??
            by Nick T
            HI all,

What are your thoughts on the above topic? I have the opportunity to buy a 1068 near the price of a Yam 2500, and was wondering which way to go. I'll be using a RMB-1075 in this system. 5.1 is all that i can accommodate at the moment. I would consider using the 1075 to biamp front...
