    New To Rotel

    Hi, Everyone!
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here at the Club Rotel Forum. It was because of all your help along with my wonderful local Rotel Dealer that I finally made the plunge and got my self a Rotel Home Theater system.
It's still a work in progress with the following components:
    Sony KDL-52XBR3 HDTV
    Sony BDP-S1 Blu/Ray Player
    Rotel RSP-1098 Pre/Pro
    Rotel RLC-1080 Line Conditioner
    Rotel RMB-1080 Amp
    Rotel RMB-1080 Amp
    Rotel RMB-1070 Amp
    JBL Venue Stadium Speakers
    JBL Venue Vocal Speakers
    JBL Venue Balcony Speakers
JBL Venue Sub-12 Subwoofer W/300watt Amp
All this equipment is sitting on 2 TV stands:
    Bell'o AVSC-2050
    Laurier 60" TV Stand.
This is so that my TV is watchable from my platform bed.
With this system I have more than enough power to spare to rock my house.
The ease of use, quality of componments, different sound options make this a wonderful sytstem that I'll treasure for the rest of my life.
Again thanks to all of you at Club Rotel for helping me decide what to make my home theater room out of.
    James

Welcome to the club! Looks like a great way to start off, in a bedroom no less!

You need to get some pictures up in the picture thread.

Just out of curiousity, why did you go with the 2 RB-1080s and a 1070?

Not saying this is bad, just curious how you ended up on those amps and how it's configured in your setup.
          Digital Audio makes me Happy.

              Pictures

Thumbnails are in the 'Picture of your Rotel System" section.
I went with this combo because I wanted to have seperate amps for each set of speakers:
              200 watts-front L/R Mains
              130 Watts-dual Center Channel
              200 Watts- rear L/R Surrounds
This will also let me add in the future another RMB-1080 and JBL Balcony speakers for a 7.1 setup.
Yes, the LCD on the 1098 is wonderful.

Shouldn't the front speakers have equal power?

                  Equal Power?

Yes they should. This would work when you only have one center channel speaker.
I have 2 JBL Venue Vocal Center Channel speakers mounted behind my Sony XBR TV screen. One on either side of the Small Sony TV stand on top of the Bell'o stand. This allows me to have the centers hidden from view. These center channel speakers in this configeration have no problems in overpowering my L/R Mains in sound levels. In fact I have to tone them down somewhat in the menue on my 1098 to keep the sound levels equal all around.
