Rotel RLC-1040 or Amp Placement on Sub

I think I know the answer already, but on a slight hope, I thought I'd ask anyway. ops:

I am running out of room on my TV stand and was wondering if there would be any harm in placing either a Rotel RLC-1040 or an Amp (either a RMB-1075 or 1085) on top of my sub. The sub is fairly large and has plenty of room for an additional piece of equipment. I realize like a DVD player would not be good due to vibrations and I figure the same would be true with an amp or power conditioner, but I thought I'd ask to confirm or deny this.

Thanks for any opinions and have a good new year everyone!! arty:

I would think any piece without moving pieces should be fine placed on a sub. I would choose the heavier piece. Might not be a bad idea to get some isolation pads for the feet just in case.

      Sub placement
      by pcrocett
Is the conventional wisdom that sub woofer placement should be on the floor? I have a nice out-of-the-way spot atop our armoire. Putting it here would put the feet of the sub on wood, rather than carpet. It would also keep it out of the way of my 2 year old, and vacuuming ease and asthetic are also...

      Vandersteen 2W and RMB-1085
      by biekrx
I have a pair of Vandersteen 2W subs, and recently purchased an RMB-1085. The 2W is a little unusual because it connects in parallel with the speakers via the speaker terminals on the amp. There is a high pass filter added to the line inputs to the amp that rolls off the low frequencies. The gain...

does the RLC1040 have input and output for ethernet cable?
      by BlazeMaster
I looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....

      Rotel RMB-1085 vs. RMB-1565
      by Blindamood
I am at the point where I am considering moving to the Rotel RSP-1570 processor, to mate with a 5-channel amp. I've currently got the RMB-1085, which I love. The options I'm considering are to keep the RMB-1085, or possibly move to the RMB-1565 to match the 1570. My speakers are B&W 805S, HTM4S,...

      New RMB-1085 Reviews
      by Blindamood
Just thought I'd pass along a couple of recent reviews of the RMB-1085 amp that I've come across. The first is in the latest (October) issue of Home Theater magazine. The review is not yet available online, but will be eventually.

The second is on the "Secrets" web site -- link...
