rotel rsx 1057 and PCM upsampling ??

I have an interesting problem that may be one of ignorance oh how this is supposed to work. I have a upsampling CD player and am using the digital out on it to the rotel 1057. However, the digital readout for PCM only shows 44.1 khz instead of the much higher rate that im expecting. What am i missing/doing wrong ?

    thanks in advance!

I'll have to look at the manual for the 1057, but it should accept whatever the CDP is outputting. I'd almost think that there's something not set on the CDP to output at the higher rate.

Most (although I don't know if they all do) upsampling CD players only upsample for the internal DAC's. The digital output will be 44.1/16 in that case.

Actually, i got it working over toslink (upsampling that is). operator error, there was a setting on the source that needed to be enabled.
