A quick question for someone willing to answer. Wanting to upgrade slightly but can't decide. Now I'm running adcom 565 pre amp, adcom 555II amp and infinity kappa 9's. What would be the better choice: Two adcom 565 monoblocks or a Rotel RB 1090? any help?

Not familiar with the Adcom but the RB1090 has many backers on this site. Of course, it would be a used one since Rotel no longer sells them in the HA market. I was in the market for a RB1090 a while back but could not get past hte heftiness of the unit. I was limited in space so I went with the RB1092 which I am very pleased with.

I was wondering if anyone has heard or has used an adcom amp with the 700 series? I am using an Adcom 555II to power my 604 s3 and it sounds good, but I know that the 700 series is more detailed than the 600 series. Do you think the 700 series will pick up more distortion than the 600 series?

Today, I just got back from hearing the 1090 and 1091/1092 amps duke it out with the BW802D... side by side. I must say, I preferred the RB1090 by a good margin. I thought that the 1090 took better control of the 802D in ALL aspects, from the bass to the diamond tweeter. The 1090 had greater stage... -
I recently bought an RB1080. My speakers are 2.5 ohms, and I have to put a 200W non-inductive resistor in series with one side of the speaker cable to bring it up to 6.5 ohms, which the RB1080 handles just fine (It did NOT like 2 ohms and now I see in the specs the RB1080 works only down to 4 ohm, not... -
