    Just bought a rotel RSX-1057

what a huge difference it made to the onkyo sr603x i had, i loved the onkyo but something was missing for my logans, def. a huge difference, the martin logans sound soo much more alive and the same for my B&W 600s3, one question to start though, somewhat lost with all the crossovers, i set the crossover for the sub at 80, and the same for the fronts and center, does this seem like a good place to start? the manual for the ML Montage says they go down to 40hz and i think around 50 for the B&W so should i set those crossovers to match or keep them a little higher? i know its mostly what sounds best and works best but theres a few more setup options on this rotel than there was on the onkyo

    Welcome to the club!

80hz for everything is a good start. Keep in mind the crossovers are not a brick wall, but a gradual slope from the set point. So if you feel the bass is a little boomy, try lowering the fronts to 60hz. You'll want your fronts to blend into the sub rather then the sub over-powering them, but you don't want to lose bass information either.

alright ill have to try that, just have to wait to watch a movie, also for the setup menus, do you have to have it on a tv or can it go through the display on the receiver?

Setup menus have to go through a TV. You can't dim the display, but you can turn it off temporarily. Just hold down the OSD/Menu button for about 5 seconds.

            RMB1077 and RSX1057 system
            by bullitt731
I was planning on using an RSX1057 as a processor with an RMB1077 hooked up to a pair of B&W 804s and a HTM3s. Orignally I thought I would biamp and biwire the L and R fronts using 4 channels of the RMB1077 while using the remaining 3 channels to drive the center and back surrounds.

            Onkyo Pro PR-SC5508P
            by Hammie
Just thought that I would post that I replaced my Denon 3808CI with this new Onkyo Pro PR-SC5508P.

I also moved from RCA's to XLR's in the upgrade.

I did my "Phase I" and installed it last night. Phase II will be the Audyssey calibration (probably tomorrow when...

            Rotel Processor vs Onkyo Receiver

            Hi All,
I've had my HT setup for a few years now based around an Onkyo 787 receiver. Due to extensions being completed at my home, in the next few weeks I will be added a projector (infocus 5700) and replacing my existing speakers with Jamo THX D6LCR fronts / centre and D6 SUR for a 7.1 THX setup...
