Rotel RSX-1067 vs Denon 4806??

    Rotel RSX-1067 vs Denon 4806??

    What would you do if you had to decide between a Rotel 1067 AVR versus the Denon 4806 that I could get at around the same price as the Rotel?

    Take into consideration for me sonics is the absolute, especially two channel audio. Having HDMI is not that important.

    Help me to decide,

      I sell both lines and are pretty familiar with both pieces. The RSX-1067 is a better sounding receiver than the AVR-4806. The Rotel is smoother in the high frequencies and is more open sounding. The AVR-4806 is very good considering all the features you get for the money, but the RSX-1067 sounds better.

          The 1067 is a bit dated but like Eric said its basically a question of sound quality vs the latest features. I am a big fan of Denon and would certainly recommend it but if the features, like HDMI, dont mean much to you the 1067 is probably the better choice. Plus its pretty bad ass looking compared to the Denon.

              It is indeed a bit outdated as it seems as though Rotel has moved the 1067 into their archives. This leads me to think it's been discontinued. Should be able to get a bargain if I decide to purchase one!

                  1067 is still current on the North American website. Where did you see it missing.

                      It wasn't when they launched the new site. They did a number of updates and minor fixes through the day.

                          I not own the 4806
                          but i own the A11sr similar to 4802
                          What I found is Denon quite picky with the DVD player
                          It sounds quite harsh and clumpsy with Denon DVD 2900 :Z but it sound exleennt with Marantz DVD :lol: :T

                              The 4806 is a 2006 model so its not exactly up to date. It would be beneficial if it has the CI upgrade
