    RPS-1066 or RSP-1068

For about the same money I can buy a RSP-1066 new in the box or a RSP-1068 demo. I don't can about video switching just great HT audio.
    I have a RMB-1075 amp and B&W 602S3 fronts, B&W LCR60 center, B&W 601S3 rears, M&K Sub.
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Function12,

"HEADS I WIN, TAILS YOU LOSE"
You'll come out the winner either way. But sometime new over demo may help you. I have a 1068 (main room) & 985 (bedroom). I love the both.

I bought a used 1066 almost two years ago and have no regrets at all.
As a processor, it works just fine for my minimal 4.0 set-up.
However, as a 2-ch pre, the 1068 will deliver much more. So if you plan on using it for a far amount of music, I would advise going with the 1068.

RSP-1068 has more in terms of bass management if you are using a sub woofer. I had to make the same decision and I went with the 1068 and haven't looked back... I listen mostly to 2-channel music but also enjoy DVD-A and SACD.

        Kind Regards,

I owned the Rotel RSP-1066 for 3 years then sold it and purchased a secondhand RSP-1068 due to the slight improvement in sound quality and additional flexability it offers. You would probably be happy with either, depends on whether the additional features of the RSP-1068 are worth it to you.

I've treated the secondhand RSP-1068 purchase as a stop gap measure until I have a need for the HDMI switching capability of the soon to be released RSP-1069.

My 1068 was cleary better than my 1066 to me ... I hope the step from the 1068 to 1069 yields the same performance jump...

The 1068 has a much lower floor noise level to me than the 1066, probably due to the split power supplies... but I can REALLY recommend the 1068 for music and HT, especially for the same money..

Buying the processor it depend on the other component you using
Because you use 600 DM series
I think 600 series can't not tell you the difference of 1066 and 1068
to tell the difference of 1066 adn 1068 you need very good speakers like 803 of stevbez

                    Hi guys,

I am attempting to perform the software upgrade. I have done the following (as per the Rotel instructions):
                    - turn OFF RSP1068
                    - set dip switches to ON
                    - connect cable between laptop and RSP1068
                    - setup a HyperTerminal RSP1068 connection
                    ...

                    by motorsportnut
I have the RSP1068 and an RCD965BX cd player which has its IR reciever blocked by a wood strip in the middle of the glass door that my gear is in. I know that the 1068 can 'relay' IR to other devices via it's EXT IR connection.

My question is can I use a simple emitter that will be placed...
