Hi i notice today that i am geting a humming noise from my maine speakers. i found that the noise is coming from my cd player a sony 9000es i changed power and interconects cables and nothing. i even conected a oppo ,the only way it goes away is if i disconect the power cable or interconects. :cry:

Sounds like a ground-loop. Not necessarily coming from the CD player though. Do you have cable/DSS hooked to the system? You can try disconnecting the feed coax. Anything else connected in the system and plugged into a different power outlet? (TV, subwoofer, etc) You can try unplugging those to see if it goes away.

Had the same problem its due to the Sony having an active ground connection and yes the culprit was the cable TV service. To eliminate the ground loop you need a power conditioner with coax cable inputs or have the cable TV service or satellite service check the ground connection outside.- Bottom
