    ground loop noise? its bad

So I finally called comcast and got the HDcable package.
With the new "cable box" connected im getting a quite loud hiss through my amps. I will try and be as brief to the point as I can.

Two bryston amps plugged into the wall for the mains

Monster power 3600 surge/filter with the following components plugged in
    Denon CD
    Denon LD
    Denon DVD
    Yamaha 5990 reciever
    Aragon 4004 amp for center
    PS2

Now I have been running this way for.... over a year now? No issues what so ever. Its been working great.

Added the comcast cable box, plugged in the optical and component cable into reciever, and power plug into the monster power surge. No noise, as SOON as i plug in the coax into the back of the comcast cable box, the amps start hissing really really bad. I then fed the coax into the monster, and from there into the cable box. That helped quite a bit, however the noise is still there and kind of annoying.

Clif notes, Coax cable from comcast, as soon as that is plugged into the box, I get buzzing noise from my amps.

    Any suggestions?

Parts-express cable ground loop isolator. Like $10 and will solve your problem.

If you unplug the component video cable does it stop as well? I noticed you said 'new' cable box, I'm assuming you had an old digital only one (or straight to the TV). I've seen bad ground loops from cable only enter in when using the component inputs before. IE, something on the component side of things (TV, receiver, etc) lets the issue come about.

      Cable ground loop

Hey guys, I get the infamous humming noise (RSP-1068 + RMB-1095) whenever I have the cable TV plugged in, and it's really annoying to have to discconect them anytime I want to watch a DVD or play music. I believe I saw a while back about an isolator for like $50 that eliminates the problem? I've been...

      Weird ground loop problem
      by Saurav
Well, weird for me, at least. I got a PE plate amp some time back, and it's hummed from the first day I've hard it. Recently I spent some time trying to narrow it down. Here's what I know so far:

      * There's no video/cable in the system, and I added power strips and cables so everything...

      Hello.

Just noticed this forum the other day. Great idea and people seem very knowledgeable.

I am upgrading to a Rotel system. Last week I purchased the RB 1090 amp to drive my PSB Stratus Golds. It is a great amp which sounds wonderful and looks great in silver. It reminds...

How to ground a Rotel RLC 1040
      by yanies
I was wondering how to ground my Rotel power conditioner so I can eliminate a hum noise that is coming from my I mac computer.

I bought a 8 meter cable 1/8" Stereo Mini Plug (3.5 mm) to Dual RCA Termination so I can hear music from my computer to the speakers.

      I plugged...

      Ground loop hum on RSP1066
