It's time to upgrade from my trusted old Denon 3803 which I have been using as a prepro,The rest of my system consists of an ATI 1807 amp 180 wattsx7,a Denon 2200 dvd player.Sony 400 disc cd player.Paradigm Studio 100v2 fronts studio cc center and adp470 surrounds and 2 M&K V760 subs.I have the funds for the 1068 in hand but I'm thinking I should save up a little more cash for the 1098. My Main use of my system is music,I think it sounds good on movies as is. I don't do any video switching.Does the 1098 sound that much better than the 1068?Has anyone upgraded to one of these units from Denon 3800 series? Was the differance darmatic? Thanks
RSP1068 or RSP1098

Tuck, do a search as this subject comes up often. The 1098 is generally accepted to be (marginally) better for 2ch, and you might get some good deals with the 1069/1099 coming soon.- Mike

I upgraded last year from the Denon 3803 to the RSP-1068 and RMB-1075. I'm using them to drive my B&W 804s. It was well worth it and I never looked back.Originally posted by TuckHas anyone upgraded to one of these units from Denon 3800 series? Was the differance darmatic? ThanksDave- Bottom

What's the best way to go about that; a y connection out of the cd/dvd to the 1082 and the 1068 and y'd into the L&R of the amp?Originally posted by FerresIf it's possible, I would recommend adding an rc-1082 for 2 channel music instead. It is substantially superior to my rsp-1068 and very likely even against the rsp-1098.- Bottom

If you can use the analogue connections of your player you could send center, surrounds and subwoofer channels to the 1068 and send the fronts to the 1082.Originally posted by crowlandWhat's the best way to go about that; a y connection out of the cd/dvd to the 1082 and the 1068 and y'd into the L&R of the amp?

I would definitely wait for the Rotel 1069 piece or some other consideration. I currently own the 1098, and as much as I enjoy it the technology is a couple of years old and therefore would put you at a technloogical disadvantage. Unless you own a front projector or some other reason you need a LCD screen, save you pennies and utilize the current technologies, or you might be subjected to buyer's remorse. Just my humble thoughts and opinion.
Peace and blessings,

Analogue pre-amps seem to offer more audio performance benefits. If you don't mind staying in the analogue world with all the cables. You could just purchase a top end player with all the built in processing and connect the 5.1 analogue channels into 3 pre-amps.- Bottom

by DrBoomWell, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)
I actually own both of them,...-

by csuzorIs the better choice the RSP1068 or RSX1056 for pre-amp duty?
I will add the RMB1066 (in bi-amp mode) or the RMB1075.
I am upgrading from a denon1804 to drive B&W700series in 5channels only (no sub yet)
Being budget limited, choosing the RSX1056 allows me to...-
