Hi all,
I received my used Rotel RB 1090 power amp yesterday morning. Although couldnt listen to the amp that morning because I had to go to work I was eagerly and anxiously awaiting for my work day to end so I could go home and set it up.
Well that time came and with the help of my nephew we set up this beauty.
With the styrofoam that comes with the amazing packing for this amp I needed to pull out some styrofoam kernels that were inside of the amp itself. With a vacuum, needle and tweezers I successfully was able to get all but one styrofoam kernel from the amp.
When I turned on my test tone to balance the speakers my RF speaker made a crackling sound. I was a bit worried at first as I thought I may have blew something in the speaker but all was well. After channel balancing I put in AC/DC's Who Made Who cd in and whooooaaaaa is all I said with a big smile on me face. I was amazed at how much more openess there was in the high, mid, and low frequencies. Bass was punchy and precise. My nephew was pretty amazed at the sound of this amp and said it was a very musical amp. Everything was so clear. I agreed 100 percent. We watched Saving Private Ryan and I thought I was going to be evicted last night or have security knock on my door wondering what is going on in here...hahaha.
Well, just keeping it brief folks as I still am rediscovering my cd's once again with much pleasure and my dvd's too thanks to this beauty of an amp. Way to go Rotel!! Thanks for all your replies from the previous posts too everybody. Keep on Rockin y'all.
