Why does my new RB1080 have 2 sets of speaker connectors per channel????? Neither the instruction manual nor the website have been updated to show this new rear pannel configuration! Is it a biwiring thing????

I would be willing to bet they got tired of people who do believe in bi-wiring asking how to cram both ends of the speaker wire into one jack.Originally posted by WI RotelThanks.
Wonder if Rotel has become a bi-wiring believer or its simply to satisfy the fans.

Earlier batches of RB-1080 had not two pairs of terminals. Since 2003 approx. I think first two-paired series emerged. BTW earliest batches had ugly plastic-covered red&black speaker terminals, identical as predecessor RB-991, later being replaced with much more suitable WBT-likes employed today...- Bottom

Not just for bi-wire!!!
Ok, lets see...... not just for bi-wire. It is also for a second pair of speakers but what gets me ...........is that they used to give you a button/switch to change from A or B or both but now a-days, they will not give you a button /switch of yester-years but you have to put banana plugs to pull in and out of speakers to go between since they don't give anymore!!!!!
Yes, I've bi-wire but I also go between sets of speakers to enjoy betweens but the lack of switching in route of bi-wire or to save cost of what ever is a shame for cost of equip but of the norm now. I had to purchase a switcher box to solve the problem. My older amps lets you go between speakers. My Rotel RB-1080 and RB-1090 amps sound great. Love-em!!!! I've spent much more for others but now I'm staying with Rotel !!!!!!!!- Bottom

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the difference soundwise between the RB1070 and the RB1080?
At nearly double the price, does the RB1080 sound any better than the RB1070? (RB1080 = $1600 V's RB1070 =$900) Thats recommended full retail prices in Australia.

I called Rotel tech support personally to clarify the difference between the old and new version of the RB1080. The only difference is that the later version had two additional speaker binding posts added for bi-wiring convienience....-

by dinnuHi Guys,
I am trying to see if I can just replace the fuses on my RB1080 to fix my dead (right) ch prob. I noticed two 6.3 A fuses and I couldn't figure out if they were blown or not. So, I just switched them to see if it would switch my dead ch (i.e., make my left dead and right live)....-

by BlazeMasterHi, I've had my 600s series for a while and just noticed something today on the websites user manual section. I had them birwired since this June and just noticed the part where they showed that the gold bars or links that connect the post should be removed when biwiring. I've had my linked for about...-
