RB 1090 Dream- Shortly a Reality

    Hi all,

The amp I have been searching for has been found used but nonetheless should be here in a couple of weeks. Yes, the Rotel RB 1090 has been purchased for a fair price. It is all black and it will ship most likely next week. Once it clears customs and I pay for applicable taxes, brokerage fee it will arrive at my door.

I am numb with excitement right now let me tell ya!! Cant wait for its arrival...woohoo!!

Anyways, just wanted to share this good news.

Sweet! Expect to be numb in other areas depending on how far you need to lift it.

      I hope it's double boxed.

Iv'e had mine about 3 months and love it. Rotel has a new customized box for $ 68 if the seller doesn't have a good double box.

The seller has the original double box, manual, original power cord. I asked if he could triple box it just for added protection as it is coming a long way by ground. He is going to triple box it. That's sweet.

If anyone has any setup tips then by all means please leave a thread. I will be running it with my RMB 1095 amp. I'm using a Monster Powercentre 5100 right now. It can handle up to 1800 watts. I know those amps each use up 800 watts each. Would I plug the amp directly into the wall in my living room? They are all wired together. Would it trip the breaker with that much current going through that area??

Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance everybody...wooohooo!!

I have my nephew staying with me for the summer so I think I will get him to help me to move it into place. My back is fine shape though but why take the chance when I have help at my place right. :T

Lucky for you, the 1090 has WHEELS. I run mine with a 1095 also. Ran a seperate line with its own breaker from the box for the 1090.

If you are using the 1095 and 1090 together you definitely should put them on their own separate (and dedicated) 20-amp line. If for nothing else than the initial power draw they take when powering up.

                    If It were me!

Can you run a separate 20 or 30 amp line just for the amps. I ran a separate 20 amp line for mine since I had room on the central electrical panel for one. See if you can hear a difference in sound quality with the amps plugged directly into the separate 20 amp line vs having them plugged both into a limiting 1800 watt power conditioner. Play dynamic music. BTW will you ever run the 1090 and 1095 at the same time?

                      You can be a broker.

I shipped an amp to canada and UPS was going to charge the buyer $75 brokers fee. The buyer became a broker. Neat! And this was a much lighter $500 amp.

Well, the RB 1090 is in transit as I speak and sleeplessness nights are upon me. Unfortunately meltdown I live in an apartment so running a dedicated line is possible however unlikely probable because I dont own the apartment. I was thinking about purchasing a Monster Power AVS 2000 voltage stabilizer to assist with this issue.

I've seen some go for as much as 500-600 USD which is pretty darn good. For now, I will plug it in my MonsterPower 5100 and hope it doesnt shut it down due to abnormal volatage. If it works well, then I can leave it like that until i can get the AVS 2000 voltage stablizer

Appreciate all the responses so far. Anyone with a RB 1090 and RMB 1095 combo lets hear from you too and tell me your experiences thusfar.

Take care all and have a great weekend.

Before I ran a seperate line for the 1090, I use to plug it into the wall outlet that was tied into the box for the living room breaker. When I powered up the amps the lights would flicker in the room for a milasec, nothing more then that. If theres an audible difference with a seperate line, I cant hear it, but then again my wife tells me Iam deaf anyways. By the way, Remember to use a good surge protecter, my tenants had lightning strike the pole in front of the house and smoked all their audio equipment and t.v. Anyway, enjoy.

Only for a milasec. That's all! Whew. Thanks for that info meltdown. I do have a one of those Monster Power subwoofer surge protector outlets hooked up to an outlet in the living close to my system. I have my Deftech speaker plugged into it. That is where I was thinking of plugging it in for now until I can get something decent within a fair price for now. Money is bit tight because of the purchase but no complaints here right now. Just sleepless nights...haha.

Any suggestions? What are your thoughts on Tripplite Isobars? Would they do the trick for a fair price?

I'm sure I will be rediscovering my cd collection all over AGAIN. I thought I did with my RMB 1095 but now I have a solid 2 channel amp to do that now..woohoo... :T

I did this review for the Klipsch forum of how wonderful
the Klipsch RF-7 and Rotel RB-1090 sound together.
The Rotel RB-1090 is a superb amp with the Klipsch

Hi, I am buying the Rotel RB-1090 amp and trying to decide which Pre-Amp to get for it, the Rotel RC-1070 or RC-1090. I'm not going to use the phono section or the balanced imputs, or computer port on the RC-1090 so I hate to pay extra for features I won't use.
