1057 connected to my tv's audio

So, I moved and forgot to mark up my cables, and when it came time to put it all together again I couldn't get my tv audio to work.. I fiddled around a bit, but no luck..

I connected my tv's "hifi out" with a standard rca cable to my 1057 Video 4 in.

On my setup screen I have video 4 labeled as TV, and input set as "analog".. But I'm still not hearing anything..
I also tried for kicks to put the cables in video 1 in, cd, tape, multi in (R/L).. But nothing worked..

    What am I doing wrong?

    You may have to:

Set the TV's speakers to OFF
Turn the TV's output to FIXED
And/or turn the TV's volume up.

Post your TV brand and model if none of that works.

Thanks for the input.. I checked everywhere, and the output audio settings are slim on my tv to say the least :-).. I can only switch speakers on or off..

My TV is a Sony Bravia 50" rear projection.. Should use pretty standard Bravia menues except for rear projection specific stuff.. Manual says nothing except plug in the rca cables to the hifi out plugs..

I think you have to turn the speakers off...

Yep I just looked it up in the Bravia RPTV manual... It says to turn the Speakers setting to "off" to use an external source. It also says there's an audio out option to allow for variable or fixed...which I would think you'd want fixed and use the remote on your Pre/Pro.

The only other thing I suggest is plugging them into the corresponding analog in of a device that is working (like your CDP or something), then you would know for sure if the TV is outputing any signal or not...and at least if it's the TVs issue or the Processor.

Tried a couple of different combinations with speakers off.. Still no luck though.. Is it correct that the cables should go to "video in 4" input for video 4?

Hmm, if you left the output set to variable (only selectable after you turn the speakers off) you'll have to turn the TV volume up.

The cables should go into video4 in. I would run the RCA cables to another source just to make sure the cables are good.
