Possible color issue with my RSX-1057

A couple of days ago I started having issues with my Dish 622 connected to the 1057 via component: the blue started slowly fading from the screen until completely off. At first the problem would go away when turning the system off and on again, but last night it just stayed that way. I did a few tests switching cables and inputs, the problem remains. If I go straight from the Dish box to the TV there is no problem. This would suggest the issue is within the receiver, but I also have a DVD player connected via component through the 1057 and it works fine. Also, HDMI connection is fine with the Dish, so it's definitely related to component. I'm a little confused because I can't figure out the culprit.
    Any ideas?

So the 622 on any component input causes problems, yet the dvd on any component input works fine?

Assuming you have set the video input you're connecting the 622 to 'PROGRESSIVE' (Since it looks like you haven't had problems since the beginning), the only thing I can think of is the known voltage issues with the 622's component output.

I don't know if it's on every unit built or if it can occur on any unit at any time, but some 622's have been found to send voltage out their component outputs. This can cause issues with certain equipment, while working fine with others.

Audio Authority has released a device to actively remove this voltage from the component video outputs:

Best bet is to call them and discuss what they have found out about the problem. It must have caused enough problems for them to make a box for it.

I am new to this forum but I have read many of your posts. Once again, your knowledge leaves me speechless! I haven't had time to confirm it, but it makes perfect sense to me. If it was any other type or failure it wouldn't probably come and go. It also explains why it doesn't affect the direct connection to the TV. I am just glad it's likely not the Rotel.

      Kevin,
      you are the man! ;x(

Hi all - I'm sure this has been asked before.
I just bought my new HDTV LCD. I currently have Charter HD cable and I am using Component to connect the two. The quality is great, but my question is this,

          RSP-1069 value for $$$

As a long term Rotel user, I have been considering upgrading my pre/pro.

The reasons? My old pre/pro IS a 1066. LOL

Really it is for better and more video switching with component. The old 1066 got the component video upgrade board (never worked with anything!!!) so...

          RMB1077 and RSX1057 system
          by bullitt731
I was planning on using an RSX1057 as a processor with an RMB1077 hooked up to a pair of B&W 804s and a HTM3s. Orignally I thought I would biamp and biwire the L and R fronts using 4 channels of the RMB1077 while using the remaining 3 channels to drive the center and back surrounds.
