    speaker settings ?

Hoping someone could help me out.I upgraded my speakers to System Audios.Sa1750's(main)sa720av(center)sa505's(surrou nds).1 of the surrounds tweeter's is not working right now a replacement is on the way however.Anyhow when i did the speaker settings in the rotel rsx1056 with the RS meter i expected a change from my previous setup. My fronts changed from 7 to 8 my center 3 to 5 but my surrounds went to max and even then it did not hit the 75db mark it ended at about 72 or 73db on the meter.Could someone tell me what's up with this.Could it be because of one of the tweeters not working?would appreciate the help.thanks
In 5ch mode you can really hear my fronts over the rears.

The tweeter not working may have a little bit to do with it but not that much. Since an SPL meter is "listening" to all of the frequencies not having the tweeter working would have only a small (if any) affect on difference in volume.

There's a couple of reasons why the volume is so different. If the sensitivity of the rear speakers is less than the front and center that would make a difference. If the rears are farther away (don't forget about height of them) that would make a difference. Also the direction they are pointed in will make a difference. If more than one of these apply, then the issue is compounded.

The last thing to do is lower the volume of the front and center speakers. If you lower the center to 0 and the fronts to 3 you gain 5dB of gain to work with for the rears.

    I hope this helps.

same speaker type for all duties - fronts/center/surrounds
        by newguy987
Hi, just curious if anyone has experimented with using only one type of speaker (ex 805s) for everything (fronts, center, rears)? I have stumbled across several websites, including THX, recommending this type of setup. For those with a thicker wallet could try this setup with towers instead of bookshelves...

Just wondering what some you have for your settings for HT use using the 1068? What crossover points do you use for fronts/center/surrounds? And, what kind of speakers are you using?

        C2 vs. AVC-2500
        by sduford
Hello folks, I just discovered this forum and I have a few questions...

I have an older AVC-2500 and when I recently purchased an SACD player I was appalled to find that the volume control doesn't operate on the 5.1 analog input (what the heck were they thinking?) There is an upgrade...

        by misterdoggy
I was wondering what the opinion was on 703 model versus the 805s for fronts.
I have a pair of 804s' on order and still have a set of 703's which have more speakers then the 805s' that are coming tuesday. Would you use the 805s' for fronts or the 703's for fronts. I have an htm3s for the center...

SSP-800: Life before and after new dual DSP boards
        by Classe4me
This post is directed to the SSP-800 owners who started out with the single board processor, and kept the unit at least long enough to experience it with the dual DSP boards. I am going to have to make some assumptions here, at least concerning those who have used this unit as much or more for surround...
