Just wondering what some you have for your settings for HT use using the 1068? What crossover points do you use for fronts/center/surrounds? And, what kind of speakers are you using?

To be fair your question seems a bit open ended.Originally posted by agentcooperJust wondering what some you have for your settings for HT use using the 1068? What crossover points do you use for fronts/center/surrounds? And, what kind of speakers are you using?
We will all be using different speakers and different crossover points dependent on what speakers we have, the sub used and personal preference.
The more work you let the sub do the more likely you are to be able to define its position.

Just wanting examples. I know it varies greatly...just curioius to see what others are using. If some are using global crossover points with all speakers set to small...or just whatever.
It is an open ended question. That's kind of the point. I just wondered if some that use full range fronts run them as small and crossover at 80 or run them as small...just general examples.- Bottom

I just purchased the RSP-1068 2 day's ago to go along with the RMB-1075 from my surround & centre B&W700's and the RB1080 for my fronts. Best piece of Rotel equipment I have bought....good luck- Bottom

Mines set to have all the speakers set to 80 hz as smalls. For music I just set stereo to be full range with no sub.- Bottom

I kind of figured most would set to small and crossover at 80. That seems to be the norm for "most" speakers.
I have Rocket 550 MKII's so I would more than likely run full range for stereo as well...with no sub.- Bottom

My studio 60s play flat down to ~46 Hz so I set the xover for them to 60 Hz. My CC-470 plays flat to ~65 Hz so I crossed it at 80 Hz. My ADP-470s play down to ~90 Hz so I crossed them at 100 Hz. I had my subs and TST set to 80 Hz to pick up everything under the center and surrounds.
Because of a great deal on an ICMB-1, I now use it for bass management and set all my speakers to large and yes to sub but no crossover on it. I still use the same crossover points in the ICBM and run all my main channels and sub 1 into it. But, the cool part for me is that I can bypass the ICBM and run a full range LFE only signal to my TST amp off the sub2 preout in the 1068. So my fronts/subs get the bass for all the channels as described above, but the TST only gets the LFE effects for recordings that have a .1 channel.AJPoe - - Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional!- Bottom

I run my current fronts (Tyler Acoustics) as Large at 60hz and my center as Small at 80hz, rears as Small at 80hz. I like the fronts to be full range and they have no problems handling demanding tracks. I also used my Dynaudio's in the same configuration. For 2CH, my fronts are set as Large at 60hz with sub. I'm moving away from my current speakers and going with a much larger speaker to hopefully eliminate the need for sub in 2CH....I hate running a sub in 2CH.....never can get it to sound just right.
You'll find most Rocket owners set their speakers up as Small. At least that is what I recall. I've owned several av123 products over the years.- Bottom

For HT almost all speakers should be set to small regardless of how low they claim to play. And rememeber that the F3 they quote doesn't mean the speakers are flat to that freq as they're already 3 dB down at that freq and likely dropping fast. The conventional rule of thumb is to double the F3 to get your XO point to be sure there's adequate coverage from the sub to the mains...but that's not always possible with most smaller surround speakers etc.- Bottom

I would agree with the exception of powered tower speakers such as some of the Def Techs and others with built in subwoofers.Originally posted by Andrew PrattFor HT almost all speakers should be set to small regardless of how low they claim to play. Andrew, the freq response on Paradigm's website indicates the frequency response but a much lower reading for the DIN extension. I.E. the response for the 60s is to 46 Hz but DIN down to 30 Hz which appears to be the -3 dB reading in a typical room. I have tested them and they seem pretty flat to the mid 30s. Do you think the 60 Hz setting is too low? I felt that they blended better with my subs at 60 over 80, but I'll have to test everything out again once my new subs are done.AJPoe - - Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional!- Bottom

I have the 1098, but here are my current settings. However, as always these are subject to tweaking changes:
All speakers set to small:
XOs as follows:
Sub=80
Front=60
Surrounds=80
Center Backs=80
Configured speaker dbl levels with SPL meter and AVIA disc.

Azeke- Bottom

by McLovinG'day,
I am having an issue with my RSP-1068 and progressive scan inputs.
I have three video input devices hooked up to the 1068: a set-top box, a DVD player, and an Xbox (on V1, V2, and V3 inputs respectively). The 1068 is then connected to my TV (a Sony LCD). All inputs...-

by hired goonG'day,
After a long saga trying out an RSP-1068, then an RSP-1066, I finally settled on the RSP-1068 yesterday. I think (hope!) I've made the right choice.
Anyway, I've got a couple of questions, which I trust someone here can help answer.
(1) I've got an...-
