Rick,
I don't think so. I have used the Pro-ject phono box and now the Cambridge Audio 640 phono amp on my tape inputs on the RSX-1055 and now RSP-1098. I can't think of any reason you couldn't have the tape input setup with input = phono amp and output = headphone amp? Not sure about headphone but why not use the Zone 2 outputs for that - should work?
Cheers,

Rick,
Just had to find drawing of the 1056
Unless you can use one of Video 1-3 as combined Phono/Headphone output them I'm at a loss? Only other thing I could think of is using the multi-input L-R front for Phono and pre-out to your headphone amp but just grabbing at straws really

You can use any available input for the phono preamp. What comes out of the phono preamp is a line level signal of similar voltage to a CD player. The headphone amp can go into any of the following - tape out, video 1 audio out, video 2 audio out, video 3 audio out, and zone 2 out. If the tape out and the zone 2 out are taken, then any of the other three will work. You cannot use the output of the input being used however i.e. if you have the video 3 input selected the video 3 output is shut off. All preamps do that to prevent feedback loops.Originally posted by rick cWas wondering if there was such a thing as a combo unit thats for phono and headphones. My rsx1056 does not have as you know a phono or headphone jack.thanks
I hope this helps.

by HGCHi, folks,
My 1068 is just a week-plus old and works fine but for one quirk.
I have a Gilmore Lite headphone amp connected to Video3 out.
It works fine with the CD, tuner (1080, also new), and phono, but
not with the DVD/SACD player. The "play everything"...-

by UFObusterJust bought a Grado headphone amp and need a little advice on hook-up to my RSP-1068.
Excluding CD and Tuner audio-input, I have 4 other audio "inputs": TV, 2xDVD, and PC (for MP3).
Is the Zone 2 output to the Grado the best option to hear all 6 audio inputs? Is the...-

by whmacsHi All,
I'm contemplating getting a headphone amp for my RSP-1098 to improve two channel listening (I've got Jamo THX speakers which are great for movies, but not so good for music). I am tossing up between the MF XCAN v3 and the Creek OBH21SE. I've currently got a pair of Senn HD570 headphones,...-
