Need to set parameters after updating firmware?

    Hi, all

I just updated the firmware in my RSX 1056 from v 1.1.4 to 1.2.5 (without flashing eprom as I don't have 7.1 loudspeakers) and as recommended, I wrote down all parameters before doing it, as I supposed all of them were going to be changed to factory settings.

I finished very late yesterday night so I had no chance to check it in deep, but at first sight all settings were kept.

Did I something wrong?. I checked the actual version after update and it said 1.2.5, so it seems everything should be OK, but I doubt it as the old settings have been kept.

    I wait your experienced comments.

    Best regards.

    Hi Vicente,

When you upgrade using the MTTY program, your previous settings are not returned to factory default. However it is recommended that you carry out a factory default after an upgrade otherwise it could cause some conflict issues within the DSP EEPROM between your old settings and new software.

In short, best carry out a factory default.

    All the best.
    Best regards,

      1066 Default Setting

I need to ask what may be a dumb question about the 1066’s Default Setup. I’ve been adjusting the rear channel settings via the remote to approx. +7dB. I find this (although it may be a bit exaggerated) improves the surround experience when listening to basic cable.

      My problem...

RSX-1057 somehow reset to factory settings??
      by windmiller
My wife woke me up last night around 10:00pm talking about the receiver is acting weird.

After looking at it, it looks like it might have gone back to the default factory settings!

I am stunned and don't want to think about the time spent setting it up.

On occasion since the beginning, it has reset itself to the default settings and then I have to go in and reset the Speaker Delay, Input Labels (DVD, TV, etc), Test Tone Volume, etc. Wasnt too much of a big deal...

A couple of things are drivin' me nuts.
First my Elsa settings won't stay where I set them, after a reboot all settings are back to default.
I go into the Elsa's advanced "color control" section, set my brightness, contrast, color level and hue where I want them, hit "apply",...

1066 settings out of the box

      wow, was i surprised.

after three weeks of happy listening to the 1066/1075, i had noticed that my mains and cc started sounding a bit more 'boomy', of course relatively speaking. i've got the mains set to large, every other speaker set to small - for subwoofer purposes. i understand...
