    Reference 20 upgrade

I was on the phone to B&K today about the Ref 20 upgrades. I asked about what the upgrade would give me. The response was every thing that the Ref 30 has except firewire (ie 1394) and component switching. This seems great until I asked the price. Which appears to be set at $899.

My question is this a reasonable price for the upgrade or should I sell my Ref 20 and look at buying either a Ref 30 or another manufactures product for with similar functionality.

May I preface any responses with the notion that I am very happy with the Ref 20 except I would have liked component switching and DVD-A support. Of which component switching is not part of the upgrade.

I don't think that is a bad price, I also own a REF 20 and would be willing to pay that just to upgrade the Processing chips and add the base management features.

I don't think you will be able to do well enough selling your 20, then adding the $900.00 to purchase a 30 somewhere.

Please post if you do have the upgrade done with comments on the process etc...

Ref 50 - component video switching question
      by Kevin P
A customer with a B&K Reference 50 is upgrading to a plasma. He is using the component video switching/upconversion feature in his Ref 50, and was wondering if it's possible to assign the same component input to more than one A/V input.

In this case, he wants to have the option of...

Why do I need to upgrade my RSP-1068?
      by raduray
Until just a month ago, I had a SD Sony 36” Wega CRT as the video component of my system. Feeding it, using component from the 1068, was an S-Video cable box and a S-Video/Component 480p Pioneer DVD/CD player/recorder. Sound from the Cable Box and the DVD/CD Player was via the digital coax and...

After demoing various amplifiers over the past year, I made the decision to upgrade to the NuForce Ref 9's, which were delivered this past Friday. I thought that I would post my initial impressions as this product is rather new and has been the subject of some interesting responses on the two existing...

      RSX1056 Video Switching Card Bandwidth?
      by FSonicSmith
I'm not happy with the PQ I'm getting from satellite high def. My satellite receiver's output is going into my Rotel via component and is then going out from the Rotel into my front projector via component cable. Someone on another board (AVSforum) suggested that my problem may be my receiver. He contends...
