power amp for b&w and pc

    Hello

I am trying to build a small stereo system using a silent computer as a music server. I naturally have a few questions:

Do I really need a preamp for this system, or can I just plug the PC output to a final amp? No switching will ever be done and I can control the volume on the PC (can I?)

What amp should I use if I want to drive a pair of B&W 602? Will an RB-06 be enough, or should I go for a 1050? I don't have any budget to go higher, but I have absolutely no need for high volume.

The build-in sound card of the PC might be worth changing. What sound card do you suggest? (< 300$)

    Thanks for your input,

    Marv

YEah you can do it. Most sound cards dont have a very high output, but you could upgrade if its not enough. If all you need it 2 ch, the M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 is a very nice card for around $100.

Get the RB-1050. It's a sweetheart of an amp and will run the DM602 wonderfully. The bass detail will be better with the RB-1050.
