    Rsx-1056

    Hi folks,

    To make it long story short, Rotel is offering me to replace my RSX-1055 to RSX-1056 for free. Should I take them up on the offer?

    Should I except the same quality in the RSX-1056?

      I got to ask HOW are you able to do this? I have the 1056 and its great never compared to the 1055.But if they willing to give the 1056,why not the newer model the rsx1057 or 1058(cant remember model)

          Did something happen to your 1055 and Rotel is replacing it with the 1056 at no charge to you?

              OK. Curious folks want to know the whole story. So here it is :-)

              I had some power issues with 1055. The presets would be gone and when I try to power on using the front panel switch, sometimes it would not power on - just blank. So I sent it in. They sent it back saying they fixed it (even though I told them not to ship it without calling me). When I tested it at home, the problem is still there. BTW they "fixed" it by replacing the digital processing board. Huh?

              I sent it back the 2nd time (this time Rotel paid for the shipping). Same deal. They sent it back with out calling me. They "cut a trace on the board" - no clue what that means to me. I asked them about the power. The tech drew a blank and he didn't know why the tech didn't include any testing or repair notes about this power problem. This is when I started getting frustrated. I have to note that I was unable to reproduce the problem the second time even though Repair said they didn't do anything to fix the problem besides "cutting a trace on the board."

              Rotel then offered to replace it with a refurbished 1056. I tried for a 1057 but it didn't work :-)

              I was told that it would carry the same warranty - I have 2 yrs left on my 1055.

              What should I do?

                  Go for the 1056. It adds a lot of useful features not found on the 1055.

                          I have a RB976 6 channel amp

                          It drives my M&K k17's and K4's all of which are rated at 4 ohm.

                          The amp's specs are rated at 4 ohm and it is very clear the amp should and can drive 4 ohm speakers on all channels....
