    RDV-1060 modified version?

    I'm having the Rotel RDV-1060, RMB-1075 and RSP-1066.

I have a question which is related to the 'cosmetic' part of it. I'm having all silver components but the DVD player has a different look. First the red LED's (power and progressive scan), the on/off button and the DVD sliding bar (all black). All of them are different from the brochure when I look at the website.

Actually at the web I have found different versions. Could somebody have a look at my RDV-1060 and see what the differences are from the original player.

I have bought it second hand so I don't know the history is of the machine. Maybe the have ripped some components?

... not really a balanced design concept...

Looks like someone had the black version, and changed the front panel to silver (without changing the switches). I think it looks kinda cool!

I have brought back the DVD player to service since I had problems witht the muting transistors. They told me the vendor has replaced the front since originally the player was black. I have seen it myself, they has used the old buttons (black ones) at the new front which has the silver colour. So they have just played with some glue!!!

Anyway, they told me that the muting transistors were probably broken since I had connected the player while it was on. I'm sure I never did this!

No I have the repaired one, but still the same problem. Any DVD/CD-DTS that has a high dynamic range (recorded loudly) sounds cracky. Any idea what this could be or does anybody else had the same kind of problem?

The player doesn't play clear but with loud phrases it start to sound cracky.

See thread http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthr...highlight=1060 which is about when my RDV-1060 was crackly. It sounds like the same issue but mine was okay following repair. hope you manage to get it sorted out.

Proposed New Version of the Finalist
                by csmielke
Hoping to get some feedback on a modified version of Jim's Finalist loudspeakers. I picked up some Wavecor PR223BD01 PRs last year when Solen was closing them out. I modeled using a pair per monitor with the RS225-8 and in 31 liters come up with a nice almost QB3 looking alignment with a -3db response...

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...

                Hi,

I'm a relative Noob, having done just a pair of matching subs, front 2.5way MTM's (set on the subs) and a center and surrounds. Here are the MTM's and subs.

I'm using an HK AVR240 receiver to power everything but the subs, which use plate...

                progressive on RDV1060
                by sirbogey
My RDV1060 came back from Rotel with an exchanged tray. When I put in a DVD or CD, it takes like 10 secs for the disc to load. This was a matter of 2-3 secs before. What have they done to it?

Another question: I changed the picture to watch a movie in progressive mode. When I do that,...

I have my configuration since October last year and from the start I have a problem with my RDV1060 and RSP1098 that if correct all users of the SCART connection should have.
