I have my equipment protected by a Rotel RLC-1040. In the houston area yesterday we had some high winds and apparently lost power at home for a brief time - approx 30 minutes. When I got home last night the preamp was on. Should this have happened when the power was restored? I am scratching my head on this one. :scratchhead:

Was it on when you left? What I mean is, the RLC-1040 probably shut down, and then restarted itself after a few minutes. If the preamp was on before it shut down, maybe it turned itself back on (don't know if this is possible?). Or is it plugged into a switched outlet that became activated when the unit turned back on?
Good news is, the preamp still works, right? :WLast edited by Blindamood; 16 November 2006, 12:36 Thursday.Brad- Bottom

What do you have plugged in to the 1040? Was everything OFF except the preamp when the power came back on line? Because when the power comes back on, the 1040 powers up again. You can have this setup changed, you can set it up so when the power comes back on your 1040 will still stay OFF. Was the preamp ON when the power went out?- Bottom

Same here last night with an older APC unit, my 1066 turned on after the power came back on. I'm guessing it's a function of the Rotel gear. I just hope I don't have to re-do all my pre/TV etc settings tonight when I get home

by BWLoverSo I got an RLC-1040 and the power cord that came with it was maybe 2 feet :M (on a good day). So I switched it with the power cord on my RB-1080. They were both 14AWG cords but the 1080's was 6 feet (long enough for my RLC-1040). Now the 2 foot cord is to short to be used on my amp. So now the cord...-

by sskimI have Rotel RLC 1040 power conditioner hooked up to a plasma TV and HT sound system. Over the weekend, while TV was on, I accidently overloaded the circuit using some power tools. After I reset the circuit, I noticed the TV was resetting its system which makes me to think that the TV was shut down...-

by sskimThis question involves connecting cable coax cable. My setup is Pioneer Plasma with cable card and Cablevision is the provider. I have coax cable running to "IN" of RLC1040's "surge protected" coax connector and using a second coax cable to connect the plasma to "OUT"...-

by sskimI just picked up RLC1040 this past weekend and got it all hooked up Saturday morning. I have 50" Pioneer plasma, Rotel RSX1057, Rotel RDV1050 and an old VCR. I'm not expecting any improvement in sound or PQ, but just looking for the peace of mind. Not that I've had any power issues but since...-

by BlazeMasterI looked at the specs on both the RLC1040/1080 and the pictures shows that the RLC1040 has conditioned in/outlet for either phone line or ethernet line. I'm more interested in the conditioning for the ethernet cable, but the specs state that only the RLC1080 has the ability to condition ethernet cables....-
