    RCD-1070 problem

On last August I got a new laser head for my RCD-1070 player, after a complete failure. Suddenly my CD player stop recognizing any CD, ejecting all of them.

After this fixing, everything seem to be OK, except that once a while a got some tssssssss….fssssssss… while playing music, both on original CD and CD-R copies. It happens randomly in a CD track and if I go back I cannot reproduce that interference in the same time frame. When that happens I test the CD on my Pioneer DV-696AV player, and it just plays without a glitch.

I though it could be due to scratches on CD surface, but if happens with perfect condition CD’s also.

Any clue? (I guess I’ll need a new laser head... again...).

Perhaps a laser alignment may do the trick.

    Peace and blessings,

      RCD1070 or RCD1072 ?
      by Stev
      Hi
I have the option of buying a new RCD1070 for about 30% less than a RCD1072. Is there much of a difference between them ? Any problems with the earlier model i should be aware of ? The saleman says ther is little if any audible difference between the two models. Any thoughts would be appreciated....

Getting DD from laser disc player through 1098
      by Sithlord10
I decided to pull out my brothers Star Wars Special Editions laser discs to watch and connected the laser disc player into the 1098 using the coax ( Digital out coax from player into coax in on the 1098) changing the input in the menu accordingly. I do not get any sound but if I connect using optical...

HD DVD and The Blue Laser
      by George Bellefontaine
Apparently Sony, Philips, Samsung, LG, Thomson, Hitachi, Pioneer, Matsushita and Sharp have agreed to a new DVD standard adopting the blue laser. The so-called Blu-laser disc works with a blue laser that operates at a higher frequency than current technology, can store up to 13 hours of film, compared...
