    balanced or unbalanced interconnects

    Hi,

Which kind of interconnects do i need for the rotel combination:

    RDV-1092
    RSP-1068
    RMB-1075

    Unbalanced or balanced.

    Thanks!

All three of the Rotel components you list support only RCA (unbalanced) connections.

You will get better performance with unbalanced even if you had balanced inputs on all devices. This is because US supply is 110v and you can not get a true balance connection.

Wha? Power supply has nothing do with the balanced/unbalanced discussion.

Unless you're running cables across great distances or the equipment was designed from the ground up with a balanced circuit topology, unbalanced interconnects are A-OK.

You mean the circuit that tries to imitate a balanced output. Everyone that I know prefered not to use the balance inputs. found the sound less appealing Power supply is very important to circuit design and they are not a true balanced outputs. Maybe I am wrong. So please explain to me if so
          Thanks
sorry to be misleading on the 220v. It has to do more with the grounding loop ops:

I would suggest trying both and let your ears decide.

You only need balanced IC's if you have long and/or noisy runs AND if your equipment is truly balanced (most mid-fi is not). Otherwise your wasting your money IMO. Spend the extra money either on better quality RCA cables or elsewhere in the system.

              Balanced Processor and Balanced Interconnects
              by Stockinv
I currently have B&W 802D speakers with McIntosh 501 amps and an Aragon Stage I processor. My local hi-end stereo guy is telling me that I will get a much better sound if I upgrade my system to one with a processor that has balanced outputs and balanced (xlr) interconnects. He suggests the Classe...

Do Balanced Interconnects Really Make a Difference?
              by moonlightdrive21
              Hey guys:

Classe states that the use of balanced interconnects on their units will result in much better sound than using RCA interconnects.

But when I talk to certain knowledgable audiophiles about this, they laugh at that statement. The doubters say that balanced is...

              1098 no balanced interconnects?
              by NHT
I just noticed this but my 1098 has no balanced interconnects slots. Is there a reason for this? I have always heard balanced is always better than the rca but how come Rotel didnt make the 1098 with them being that it is their top of the line processor.

Hello everyone this is my first post here and I'm hoping someone can help me.

              I have the CA-5200, SSP-600 and CDP-300.
I have set up everything without a hitch with the exception of the Balanced Outputs from the CDP-300 into the SSP-600.

              Balanced or RCA???
              by A*Caps
Hello all, this is kind of a follow-up to my last post ( I should've included this second question in the original post). I know that the Rotel RMB-1095 takes Balanced interconnects, however, the RSP-1066 only has the RCA for outbound. Are you all just using RCA on both ends, or RCA to Balanced? I am...
