absence of 12v trigger on pre-pro

I have an HK335 working as my prepro and an RMB1077 amp.

I plan to use an AC/DC 12v converter with a 3.5mm jack (300-350mah) plugged into the switched outlet of the HK to trigger on the 1077.

will it be safe for my amp to do this?

(I heard of this idea from another forum and confirmed from the Outlaw website FAQ that there really are people who do this)

Can you provide more info on this? ... Perhaps the converter you are planning to use? I'd like to try something like that.

What's the lowest mAmp rating on the converter that you'd want to use? And I'm assuming this is a constant current going to the amp from the AC/DC converter?

It doesn't need to be a whole lot on the converter, but I doubt you would find one that's too low. There's only going to be as much voltage flowing that's needed to trip the trigger. You could put a 900mA one on there and it's still only going to pull a little bit.

                  Hi,

I have recently picked up a Rotel 1570/1575, and I am having a few problems with the 12v trigger between the 1570/1575. I am unable to get the 1575 to power on while using the trigger when turning the 1570 on. I have the trigger cable connected to trigger out 1 on the 1570, and the...

                  Hi all,
I recently had a new home threatre installed which consists of my current Onkyo 787 receiver acting as a processor and new Rotel RMB-1075 and RB-1070 providing the amplification for a 7.1 setup (which sounds fantasic btw). The problem being that my Onkyo doesn't have a 12 volt trigger...

Using 12v trigger to run accessory fans
                  by cmr15
I've got a 1067 which runs rather hot, and I'm aware that that's the norm. I'm about to place it in a custom wall unit and need a little info regarding the use of fans and a 12v trigger.

What I'd like to do is use 2 accessory computer fans to circulate the air. One would pull in air...

Hi All, my first post! I'm a long time Rotel fan
I have 2 RB1091 amps which I got a deal on from my local dealer several years ago. At the time he said the 12v triggers weren't working. At the time this wasn't a problem for me. However since upgrading my system late last year I now want to...
