    1068 and Video Sync

I have a question for the group. I have a 1068/1075 combo with various audio and video inputs. I have been experiencing a problem on the video side of the equation lately. Our primary operating mode is watching SDTV Dish Network via S-Video and digital audio inputs from a Dish Player 625. The symptoms of the problem are that at what appears to be random intervals the OSD will not be viewable on screen, no volume indication or access to the 1068 menus, and later the system seems to lose video sync all together. The screen scrolls vertically, color sync is gone, OSD seems scrambled. The only way I have found to "fix" the problem is to power off the 1068, on the back panel not standby via the front or remote. After a 10 or 15 second "power off reboot" things return to normal. Rotel Tech support asked about my cabling but it seems fine. Anyone else seeing this?

    Thanks,

    Bill

Are you running svideo out to the TV or using the internal conversion to component?

All inputs and outputs are s-video at this point.

If running a cable direct from the 625 to the TV doesn't exhibit the same issue, then it's either the cable from the 625 to the 1068 or the 1068.

I can't imagine power cycling the 1068 would fix a problem cable, so I'd say the 1068.

Is the RSP-1098 sonically superior to the RSP-1068?
          by wirebrat
          Hi All,

I am a happy RSP-1068 owner. When I purchased it, I wanted the RSP-1098 but could not afford it. I now have the opportunity to upgrade for a reasonable premium. Aside from the TFT and perhaps some additional ins/outs, is there any sonic difference between the two?

          RSP-1068 component video problems
          by hired goon
          G'day,

I'm having problems with the component input/output of my RSP-1068.

I finally bought a TV that has component input. I connected my set-top box to the TV via component, and got a great image without any problems after one hour of use. Next I connected the DVD player...

Problem with video switching through 1068
          by stewfoo
I hooked up my DVD Player and Directv satellite box through the component inputs of my 1068. The video signal is being altered drastically. The picture looks very green. I am positive that all of the component cables are hooked up properly. When I hook up either of the components directly to the...

Besides the Rotel RSP-1098 and Anthem AV20, what other Pre-pro's cure out of sync Audio with Video?

          Thanks,

I purchased a second hand 1068 about a year ago when I upgraded my sound system. It's been running well with my old SD TV system switching S-Video. I just got a Sharp 42D64U HDTV and connected it using Component Video. Component cable from the cable box to the Rotel and another compontent cable...
