Rotel RCD-1072 Remote

I have a question. There is a local guy wanting to sell a Rotel RCD-1072 for just under $500 and he sent me photos. However when looking at the photos compared to the online manual on Rotel's website, I noticed that the remotes are totally different.

So what year did they change to the new style remote for this machine?

Definately, thats the wrong remote. Ask for the right one before you purchase, the RR-D95. I'm fairly sure Rotel only made 1type of remote for the North American market as the manual doesn't say that it was revised at any time. They usually do if changes have been made. Hopefully the seller made a simple mistake and put the wrong remote in the picture. -Russ

No I went to the North America site and the bottom pic I posted was from an Ad in Boston.

Well I got an email from the seller and he stated that the remote in the first picture is what is pictured in the manual. Hmmm wonder how old that unit is!

Sean- Why not ask him to send a clearer picture, straight on so you can see the model no. If he doesn't thats probably an indication sometings wrong.

The first remote looks like the remote to RDV-1050(or was it 1060, dont remember)?

the RDV-1060 remote looks similar, but is all in black..

The first two pics are from the 1072 that a local guy is selling. The second two are the two pics that I've seen and what is replicated within the manual on Rotel's site.

my guess is he bought a demo and they just gave him whatever remote worked ?

the remote in the top picture is the same remote that came with my 1072. It's the RR-D94. And my manual says it should be the RR-D94.

I'm pretty sure the bottom remote has only been included within the last 18 months.

For what it's worth, my remote is like the one in the last 2 pictures

I purchased my RCD-1072 in March '04.
The remote is the same as the top two pictures-model no. RR-D94.
I don't use it much at all-"taught" all the functions to the RR-1050 that came with the RC-1090.

I bought my RCD-1072 on march this year here in Finland, and I also have the RR-D94 remote (from the smaller pictures). I actually think that the other one is better looking, although just a little too long. As much as love my Rotel gear, I hate the way the remotes look and feel...
