    Did I buy right?

When I purchased my RSX-1067(April '05), I had heard nothing but good things. I belong to audioholics and no one talks about it(RSX-1067).I come to this group and see a huge amount of problems with heat and hum....was I a sucker did Rotel put out a dud?I looked into Denon,Marantz and Harmon Kardon.Home theater loved the RSX-1067, and so did several others. I know the speakes are lacking, but am I missing any trade secrets.

i love mine and have no problems with it...not only that but i have it in a cabinet with only an inch clearance around with and two fans blowing air across the top..no heat issues at all. The 1067 is one of the best recievers you can get and closer sounding to seperates then any of the other brands you mentioned...in my opinion

yeh, I love the sound and the power.I've only had one issue, and thats the 60-75 db volume setting. It gets warm, but I've never heard the fans. I have a custom cabinet, with lots of room.

I just wonder what the rest of the 'flagships' sound like (in it's price range). I didn't have a custom installer, and just hope I'm getting the most out of it. The closest Rotel dealer is 190mi away, I had to order mine.

Using 12v trigger to run accessory fans
        by cmr15
I've got a 1067 which runs rather hot, and I'm aware that that's the norm. I'm about to place it in a custom wall unit and need a little info regarding the use of fans and a 12v trigger.

What I'd like to do is use 2 accessory computer fans to circulate the air. One would pull in air...

        1095 and heat.
        by PiDD
I have my 1095 on the very top of my rack and had some heat issues. The amp would go into protection pretty easily.

What I did was put a couple of 6" computer fans on top and tied them into a rely and a 12v trigger. This has deduced the heat significantly!

        I am guessing...

        Class D amp fans / foes ?
        by gianni
I'm still in the process of trying to find where I stand in the Class D vs traditional linear amp debate knowing that the debate may never be put to rest and that both may coexist for many years to come. In any case I need to do more listening with some different speakers.

        I've been encouraged...

Exploring Common DIY Terminology - Heat Sink

        Heat Sink

Heat sinks are components or structures used to dissipate heat generated by the voice coil during operation. Loudspeaker drivers, particularly high-power drivers, can generate significant heat due to electrical resistance and mechanical losses. Heat sinks help to transfer this heat away from the voice coil and other sensitive components, preventing overheating and potential damage. The primary function of a heat sink is to increase the surface area available for heat dissipation....
