Got home tonight and found that my 1068 would not power up out of standby mode. I cycled the on/off switch on the back of the unit a few times with no luck. I disconnected the power cord and waited a few minutes and still no luck. Is there something else I can try OR is it ship it to the repair center time?

Any blue light showing on the front panel ?
Any info on fuses in the manual ? not sure myself.
Are you using a power/surge protector?
May have been a power surge or lightening that caused it ?
If there are no fuses I think it will be off to the repairer .- Bottom

Check the software update dip switches on the back to make sure they are both in the off position. If they are in the off position and you still can not get it to power up then I would say it is repair time.- Bottom

Called my dealer this afternoon and he's checking to see if there are any other things to try before requesting an RA numb (Unit is 10 mths old). To answer everyone's questions...
Yes the red light (black model) is lit on the front of the proc.
Haven't swapped out remote batteries because the unit won't come to life by pressing the on button on the proc either.
The unit is plugged into an RLC-900 and was working the night before.
No thunder storms in that time period.
No externally accessable fuses. I asked the dealer to check if ME opening the case voids my warranty (waiting for an answer).
Glad I didn't sell off my old Marantz SR-7400. That will do nicely for videos until my problem is resolved and I still have the ModWright doing 2-chan duty for music.Bluespower- Bottom

I had the same problem and I had to replace the batteries in my remote, then I hit AUD and the ON button and it turned on. I had this happen after a firmware update, I did the update, checked it to make sure it was working and the 5 minutes it took me to put the unit back into place, it wouldn't start up.
I was scared mine had died as well, power cycled from the back and nothing worked what so ever. I took it back out and replugged it into the PC and saw all the commands coming up, so I knew it was still working. For some un-remembered reason, I replaced the batteries in the remote and hit the on button...and it worked... No clue as to why or what that had to do with it...but it worked.Digital Audio makes me Happy.

I have a similar but unrelated problem with mine.Back during the winter mine was hit with a static electric charge, and since that time the on/off button does not work.
Thankfully,it turns on/off with the remote...seems something fried.Since that was the only issue that developed,I have not had it checked out.- Bottom

If you can access your OSD you may want to check your power mode setting within the Other menu:
POWER: This setting determines how the
RSP-1068 powers up.
With the default STANDBY setting, the unit
powers up in standby mode when AC is applied
and the rear panel POWER button is ON.
The unit must be activated using the front panel
STANDBY button or the remote ON/OFF
buttons.
With the DIRECT setting, the unit is fully activated
when AC power is applied and the rear
panel POWER button is ON; however, it may
be put in standby mode using the front panel
STANDBY button or the remote ON/OFF
buttons.
In ALWAYS-ON mode, the unit remains fully
active whenever AC is present and the rear
panel POWER button is ON; the front panel
STANDBY button and the remote ON/OFF
buttons are disabled and the unit cannot be
put in standby mode.
If all else fails try doing a factory default reset on the unit and see if that solves the issues.- Bottom

by SliceHave had the setup for 2 months and everything has been fine until now. The other night I had company over to watch a movie. I activated Video 2 [assigned to DVD with Default Mode set to DPLIIC] but it came up in Bypass mode.
The OSD System Status showed:

by rofaforI upgraded my hifi gears to Rotels in June. The RSP-1068 was an obvious choice and tested it with RMB-1075 amp too. However the RMB-1075 and my speaker setup (Amphion Argon 2) didn't bring the same feel of sensation as Genelec active speakers, so my RSP-1068 is now connected to a nice set of Genelec...-

by tech_tableHello everyone,
I'm new to Rotel, just bought an RSP-1068 and RMB-1095 before Thanksginving, I've been left both in standby, and used 12v trigger from the 1068 to turn the 1095 on/off, But I want to know, Do you leave the 1095 in standby ? or Do you turn off the 1095 completely after...-

by chanlonHello guys,
Just wondering is it Ok to leave my RSP1068/RMB1075 combo in standby mode while I am either asleep or gone to the office? I am using the 12V trigger switches on these units and thus find it a pain to be "maunally" pressing the power buttons.
I guess...-
