    Help with component video connections

    My setup is as follows.
    rotel rsx 1055 reciever
    rotel rdv 1080 dvd player
    sony 46 inch lcd moniter.

My problem is simple, im a a/v newbe and have searched the forum for the answer, i havent found what im looking for. So here it goes

I have component cables coming out of my dvd into my component video 1 port on the back of the rsx 1055. I have component montier out from the reciever hooked up to my moniter component connections. I choose video 1 on the reciever and get nothing on the moniter. Im not shure if im missing someting on my tv setting or my reciever setting. Thanks in advance for your help. My manual doesnt realy address this to what i can decipher from it. Sorry if this is a stupid question.
