    RSP-1068 and ASW825 Sub calibration

Today, I've gotten around to setting up my 1068 for HT correctly. I went out a got a SPL meter (radio shack model). So, I go though the motions measuring distances, and using 80db as the sound level to achieve from my listening position. I did the fronts, center and rears, but I got to the sub, I wasn't sure if I should be using the volume control on the sub to increase the volume or the 1068? I defaulted to the 1068 instead. Is this wrong, should I be using the sub volume control instead. I also read somewhere that is typical if not correct, to to set the volume of the sub a bit lower then the rest of the speakers?

Watched Star Trek Nemesis what a show... forgive me but when it comes to movies I'm just not up to the times...besides it was the best under $10 film I've ever seen.

    thanks

I would strive to have the 1068 sub level as close to zero and adjust the sub volume. Typically I will set the sub 10db 'higher' then the rest of the speakers when using a test disc. 5-10db when using tones.

      Subwoofer Calibration Question
      by whmacs
      Hi All,
A real quick sub calibration question. When calibrating a sub using the test tones (or a test disk) is it best to leave the sub's speaker adjustment level on the processor at 0db and use the sub's volume control to get a 75db reading on an SPL meter or; set the sub's volume to say 1/2...

Hello. I have a couple of questions regarding the settings for the sub on the 1068 pre/pro.

I currently have my M&K VX-860 250 watt sub volume level set at Reference and also set to bypass its crossover settings in favor of the pre/pro. On the 1068 I have the crossover set...

      1068 volume changes by itself

I have a 1068 prepro that is several months old. It is a replacement for one that had a hum problem that I bought March 2004. I am very happy with it but have one problem: the volume adjusts automatically, apparently at random times. It usually happens only once or twice per evening and either increases...

      1068 Volume Issue
      by ajpoe
I've had my 1068 for a few months now and all of a sudden my volume is going crazy. It keeps jumping up really high even after I take my finger off the volume button and the same going down. I know the update made the volume go a lot faster, and I am used to that change.... that's not whats happening....
