    Rotel RSX 1057 as a Pre/Pro?

    Hi guy's

I was just wondering what would be the advantages and disadvantages of using the New RSX 1057 as a Pre/pro?

Would the RSP 1068 sound much better than the RSX 1057 when hooked up to a RMB 1075 or 1095?

I am asking because i can get the RSX for a good price from my dealer to replace the RSP 1066 i have.

    Any info would be great.

Isn't the RSX-1057 almost same price as RSP 1068 ??

you couls use the amplification of the 1057 to biamp or some of it's amps to get 7.1!

No. My dealer quoted me $2275 for the RSP-1068 and $1500 for the RSX-1057. These are in Canadian $$$$.

I think $1500 CDN is a great price for the RSX 1057. Thats like $1345.46 US.

Also the RSX 1057 has HDMI that i could take advange of.. Hard decision.

I was in your boat and went for the 1057.

I coupled it with the 1077.

I have the 1077 but I'm still waiting for the 1057 as it was on backorder.

If you do your research on the 1056 vs 1068 (the 1057 is a 1056 with HDMI)
you will find a divided camp wich one is the better buy.

Apparently in Europe the 1056 is more expensive as it "seems" to have the 1068 electronics plus an amp!! plus a tuner...and in 1057 form HDMI!!!
(Someone please jump in and correct me here...)

If it was choosing between the 1057 and 1068 replacement (1069?) which is not going to be out anytime soon (aka sometime in 2007) I would go for the 1069. Eventually I plan on selling the 1057 for it or even better the 1098 replacement.

If you can hold out for another week, I'll be able to give you a hands on experience how it works as a pre.

        Hope this helps.

          Hi guy's

I allways had my sub crossover on the Rotel RSX 1057 on 100hz. I have a large room and like little bit more bass. Recently i got a new Paradigm Servo 15 V2 to replace my old mission Sub. Anyways now i developed a Poping sound when the receiver changes settings from prologic to...

Hi folks. Not so long ago I purchased my first set of speakers, they're mentioned in the title... I had previously considered Arcam electronics to mate them with but my perception of buying used Arcam AVR gear has taken a 180 degree turn after not one, but two negative experiences ... of the DOA variety....

          by igk
          hi,
i'm looking for a simple preamp to be used for 2 channel stereo.
it looks like some of the older Rotel RSP pre/pro are pretty cheap out on the used market. (rsp 960, 970, 980) how were these units for 2 channel output? i am currently using an older NAD 1155, but i want something...

RSP 1066 Pro Logic 2 Mode
          by ROb Aspeling
I have a DSS linked to my 1066 by digital coax. Last night I hit the menu button by accident and saw that the 1066 was decoding Pro Logic 2 emul. I've heard of Pro Logic 2 movie and music mode but what is this emul mode?
