Contour Adjustments - DD 5.1, DTS

Are soundtracks recorded in DD 5.1 and DTS subject to changes made in the Contour Settings menu or are the Contour Settings designed for all of the other sound modes.

I dont have the 1056 so I may not have the best info.

I use the 1068 processor and from memory I am pretty sure the tone or contour adjustments apply to DD and DTS.

The 1068 has contour adjustments for every speaker, not sure it this is the case with the 1056, in which case the contour adjustment would probably work on the fronts only or all the speakers may adopt the same contour settings.

Try it out and see if you can notice a change in tone with DD & DTS.

I will try it out also to double check and get back again.

Bleeding Ears, thanks for your help. I purchased this receiver last Tuesday so I'm trying to learn as much about it as possible. There are just so many variables that can be changed. I'll keep working at it.

No problems, it takes a while to get the hang of it, and to then decide on what settings are giving the best sound.

The 1056 does have contour adjustments for every channel. 5.1, stereo and other various formats. The only time i cannot use my contour is when i put it in bypass mode.
