    RSP-976 analog inputs not working

My RSP-976 does not route any of the 2-channel analog inputs to the
surround outs. I.e. when I connect my DVD player to Video 1 using the analog audio inputs I get no sound regardless of what the input setting for Video 1 is in the menu. When I make the audio connection using one of the digital inputs the audio does get routed to the surround outs.

What is even stranger is that all these analog inputs (Tuner, CD, Tape, Video 1-5) route to zone 2 just fine. Plus the analog signals are also available through all three recording outputs. Digital inputs as well as the 5.1 ch analog bypass work fine.

Is there a way to enable/disable the analog outputs or is the processor likely broken?

Check the settings of the DVD player in its setup menu. See if you have something shut off.

pasiparkkila, did you ever figure out why you could not get any of the analogue inputs to work?? I’ve just bought an rsp976 and have the same problem!
Talk about digging up an old thread!

As a former 5-year owner of a 976 (I upgraded to a 1068 recently), I am curious as to how exactly you're hooking up the DVD player to the 976. You will only get 5.1 sound if you either use a digital connection from the player to the 976, or if the DVD player has 6 distinct analog audio-out ports that you connect to the 976's 5.1 analog audio inputs. Otherwise, just connecting the regular stereo audio out of the DVD player to the Rotel will only give you Dolby Pro-Logic at best.

        Cheers,

Rsp-1066 No Zone Or Analog Audio Outs
          by jimbo2
I am running an optical input to Video1 from a satellite receiver. I have 5 cable outs of 5 channels (RCA audio) outputs going to amp, but need to have additional 2 channel outs to the TV so I can have amp system off for quite viewing. My question is, when I set record and zone outs to Video1, I get...

"Official" results of programmable channel use with multichannel 7.1 analog inputs
          by Chris D
There has been some concern and confusion here about whether the programmable channels work on the C1/C2 when listening to a source through the 7.1 multichannel analog inputs.

I did some testing on my C1 to get the real answer in operation, not out of a book. The answer is that it depends...

Analog inputs on 1057 not working?
          by marano
So I received my new Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD Player today and I'm trying to hook it up via the analog inputs but I'm not getting any sound. I have Video1 on my Rotel RSX-1057 receiver set to Analog (Is there anything else that needs to be set?) but I didn't see anything on the Toshiba to set it to analog...

The ability to do processing on 7.1 analog inputs
          by AVspec
Chris, any update of this wish with the 7.1 analog inputs? I will be getting the Samsung BD-UP5000 and from what I have been reading it does not have speaker settings in it for distance and levels, only size.

Has Parasound addressed the 7.1 analog request yet?

          If an inexpensive...

No true analog bypass on RSP-1066???
          by Martinf
Prior to committing to a multi-channel pre-amp (RSP-1066), I’ve been studying the specifications and user manuals for both the Rotel RSP-1066 and very new RSP-1098.

          1. Some observations from RSP-1098 manual:-

          (a) On page 13 in the RSP-1098 manual it has an explicit...
