How to find how old the gear is ?

I'm still looking for used 1066, 1068/ 1075 combo, or 1067. Is there a way to find out how old the gear is ?, will serial # show the sale date ?,
    thanks for any info...

I'm not sure if any part of the serial contains a date code, but the end numbers are sequential to the build order. You can always call Rotel and they will give you a good time-frame.

Any reason other then knowing how long it's been used?

Well, as I'm looking for used in silver. They price will differ if unit is under 1year old or 3-4years old. Most of them look like new and if refered and sold like new, I would asume it matters. Don't thing wear off.
for instance/ slitly used 1075 s' for $800, 3 years old. New 1000. - dscount + tax, maybe new is better deal, but if unit is 6month for 800., I would think that is a good deal.
      any advise would be welcome....

I don't think wear on items like these can really be compared, when you're only dealing with a maximum of 3-4 years old. Plus since the warranty is not transferable, paying more for a newer unit is not going to guarantee you a longer life.
