Using Luxman Pre-Pro with Rotel RB-1080?

    Hi first time post.
I am looking at getting the RB1080 to replace my 18 year old Luxman M03 power amp wich is starting to play up. My luxman Pre amp C02 is in perfect working condition. Would I be able to use the lux pre with the RB1080?

    Here's my main speaker specs:
    Magnat Sigma 900
    28-34,000 Hz
    3 Way 4 Ohms
    140/200 W DIN/Music
    Sensitivity 1.8 Watt

My current Luxman M-03 Power amp specs:
    Power Output: 200W x 2 (FTC, 8 Ohm, 0.03%)
    BTL Power 480W (8 Ohm, 1 kHz)
    Frequency Response 10 Hz - 100 kHz
    Signal To NOise 120dB
    T.H.D. 0.02%
    Input Sensivity/Impedance: 1V/45kOhm
    Rated I.M. : No more then 0.02%

I have used the RB-1080 amp and RC-1090 pre-amp for several years with no issues. I use XLR out from the 1090 to 1080 amp. Last year I borrowed a Krell 300ci integrated and compared to the Rotel combo. I could not hear any difference in the sound quality feeding B&W Nautilus 802 speakers. The RC-1090 is indeed an excellent pre-amp if you can find one. Both the RB-1080 & RC-1090 have been reliable.

Yes it will work just fine.... Though over time it may have a slight degradation in sound due to aging of components such as critical capacitors.. Still that will make it even better when later you can afford to upgrade the pre-pro...

        Hello Benchmark DAC1, goodbye RC1090 ?

        Hello all

Over the last year I have been slowly been drawn into the digital server approach to storing music and recently bought a used Benchmark DAC1 USD. The said unit is connected to my media PC, my TV and my RCD1072 is now serving as a CD transport.. So far I’m very impressed...

Connecting pre AND prepro to RB1080
        by hitek57
        Hi all,

As mentioned in my earlier post, I just added an RB1080 to power my front speakers. And the result is, in a word, WOW. Soundstaging, detail and bass oomph are much better than with my other, ageing power amps -- B&K ST2002 and Marantz M500 monoblocks.

        I have...

        Hello

I just picked up a RC1090 from Audiogon, the unit is in excellent condition and sounds very nice. I had an RC1070 before which always seemed a bit bright to me, the RC1090 is very smooth.

Anyway the one small downer on the deal is that the seller failed to mention...

        RB991/RB1080 for Dyn Audience 82
        by Belgarath99
        Hi

I have heard that this is the best forum to talk Rotel.

I am thinking of buying an used Rotel RB991 to add to my HT setup. I will use the pre-out of my Denon AVR 3805 to connect to the power amp to drive my Dynaudio Audience 82 speakers.

        I have heard comments...

        Hello,

I am in FRANCE. I bought a RC1090 pre amp and I would used balanced input on XLR connections.
Please can you tell me if this amp uses :
        - the USA xlr system (1: GND, 2: COLD, 3: HOT)
        - or the European system (1: GND, 2: HOT, 3: COLD).
