    Rdv 1060

    I have this interrogation:

Is a RDV-1060 (that i can have for 550$) plug with the DB25 port on an RSX-965 (+/-300$) to take advantage of the processor of the RDV will do a good job compare to buy an RSX1056 +/-850$ with a cheap Sony DVD that i owned?

    Thank you!

I would say go with the 1056. The 1060 would be a big improvement over your Sony, but the 1056 would be an even bigger improvement over your 965.

Plus, since the only 5.1 inputs your 965 has is the DB25 connector, you will have to buy the special DB25 to 6 RCA cable needed. Last I checked one of those was around US$150 and that was for low quality cables. The DB25 connectors was one of those things that just never quite took off.

      Ok.

Now i have another choice for you:

      RDV-1040 (300$) plug via coax + Keep My Harman Kardon AVR 110 like PRE/PRO + RB-985MKII (5x100) (550$) as Amp?

      THANK YOU!

The AVR110 doesn't have 5 channel pre-outs to run to another amplifier, so that's out.

I originally thought you owned a 965. I still say go with the 1056 and add a better 2ch amp for your fronts later. Then after that get a better DVD.

          Thanks

            Hi all!

I'm about to get a 'matching' DVD-player (I stopped waiting for the new generation of DVD players from Rotel the moment I heard the anticipated prices...).

I was hoping to recieve some answers on the following questions:

            1) Is there any reason for...

Rotel RDV-1060 vs SoundBlaster X-Fi ExtremeMusic
            by slaikan
I decided to upgrade my 5 Year old SB Live sound card in my PC to a X-Fi ExtremeMusic. Made a huge difference to how my PC speakers sounded. I then was interested to see how it compared to a RSP-1068/RDV-1060. I've been lurking around on these forums and have noticed a few people have gone the PC audio...

After many questions and comparisons I got the RDV 1060 today. I'm not experienced in writting reviews, but I am going to try my best to answer the questions for you that i was asking before deciding on the RDV 1060.

I found it hard to find what other dvd players the RDV 1060 compared...

Imp. Question for Rotel RDV-1060 owners!!!!
            by chinets
For all Rotel RDV-1060 Owners: My question is that I bought for the first time a DVD Audio ( Diana Krall...Jazz) and put it in my RDV-1060 that is processed through a Rotel 1065 5.1 Amp 1t 5x100W and to my surprise the RDV-1060 would not play the DVD Audio I bought. The 1060 clearly states that it...

Decided to return the RDV-1060 for a RCD 1072

            Gents,

I originally bought the RDV-1060 aiming to use it for both CD's and DVD's. Unfortunately the unit I received had some issues so I almost immediately had to give it back to the shop for repair.

After my RDV-1060 came back from repair (gone for a month after handling...
