rsp-980 vs rsp- 1066

Hi One of my presents is finding this Rotel forum
My question is if the analog-2 channel section is so much better sounding on the 1066 vs my 980 that I should go tomorrow and by my dealers demo?

I would think that would depend on a cost, customer service, and return policy (in writing!!!).

You would also need to check the version, (hold the mute button for approx. 5 sec.),2.26 is the lastest. If the 1066 is in the 2 series, you should be alright. After that consideration, the cost would probably be one of my major concerns, the other being equipment wear.

If you're just starting to look now and are planning on buying new anyway, I'd wait about a month for the 1066's replacement. It's rumoured to be based on some of the 1098's technology which would mean you'll probably here more of a sonic improvement on the newer model. Not that the 1066 is a slouch by any means (I am a happy owner of one ) but from what I hear the 1098 sounds better. If the 1066's replacement has even some of that extra processing prowess I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
