    RSX-1055 Wont power up

    Hey guys,

My amp is on stand by mode...the blue light is on but when I press the power button on the remote, nothing happens. Just a click and a short hum and none of the lights on the front window lights up....I'm bummed....any simple fixes?

Have you unplugged it for 5 minutes and tried again?

Donr't use the remote, the batteries may be dead (it is unlikely, but it can save you a lot of trouble)

Thanks for the reply guys. I took the receiver to my local Rotel dealer. Unfortunately, it's not a fuse issue. The amp is o.k on stand by so power is coming through but no OSD nor sound. Called Rotel this morning and they couldn't figure it out either. Looks like I wont have a receiver for 2 weeks or more.

In my case the processor board was replaced for a new one. If this is your case, don't forget to upgrade firmware, as the new board had an old version. Now everything is OK

I waited almost 7 months for my processor. After the 3rd month I was missing so much music and movies, that I asked my local dealer to borrow me other processor, which they did. You should try the same. ;x(

The RSX-1055 is ready to be picked up by tomorrow. I'm told that the left speaker channel blew up....What? said that the speaker wires might have been shorted out????what??? I don't think I did anything wrong. It worked the night before and it went dead. The volume was not cranked either. Oh well. As long as I can get it back then I'm happy. :T

The gear has been wired and i'm back in business. I'm still not sure how it blew up. They replaced the resistors etc, etc.
