    RSX-1055 and Vandersteen 2C

Is this is good match? Would I have enough power to run these huge speakers?

    Vandersteens

The recommended power for the Vandersteens is 40 - 140 watts at 8 ohms.
The RSX-1055 puts out 75 watts per channel so you should be ok. I'm running mine with an Adcom GFA555 at 200 wpc with and RC-1070 preamp and the volume knob rarely goes past the 9:00 position.

Are you planning to use the Vandersteens for home theatre? I had mine hooked up for home theatre use at one time and ended up blowing the
rear firing bass driver twice on movie sound effects so I only use the
Vandersteens in my 2 channel setup now. I've had mine for about 10
years and i'm still happy with them.

Your 1055 should handle the Vandersteens but do not try to play them at ear splitting, block party loudness. Clipping can occur if you try to push the amp to hard to reach those sound levels. Just keep it in reasonable listening levels and it shoud do fine. Enjoy.---Philip

Thanks Philip, I will get a 2 channel amp to power these steens up down the road. Any brand suggestions?

Armond, I use Rotel's RB1070 to drive the Vandersteen 3A Signatures. Rotel amps are very musical and a great bang for the buck. My next upgrade will be to add a powered subwoofer. This will relieve the amp from having to power the low frequencies and that should allow the mids and highs to sound even better. I do think you will be very pleased with the Rotel/Vandersteen combination.---Philip

Thanks Philip, I'm sure the Rotel amp would sound great but I read that it may not be a good match. Either a Bryson or even an NAD would be better. Thanks.

                  Vandersteen 2Ces and what amp?
                  by Taylormade2
For about 8 years, I have had a pair of Vandersteen 2Ces powered by a Rotel RB-956AX bridged into 3 channels for 100w/c. I have decided to go 2 channel only and am getting rid of the Vandersteen center. I would assume I would hear an improvement in sound with a 2 channel amp as opposed to the Rotel...

Anyone compared Rotel with Vandersteen speakers vs. B&W 803D or better?
                  by The_A_V_Guy
I have Rotel RSX-1056 and RB-1080 with Vandersteen Mocedl 2Ce Signatures and VCC-1 center channel. I was alsays curious about B&W speakers but they were out of my price range and the Vandersteens are just incredible! Their design concepts are phenomenal. But i woudl very much be interested in...

I have an older RSX1055 with original version of firmware. Recently hooked up two CB speakers and utilized the redirect feature in the on display menu. Initially the RSX1055 would reset the redirect back to front speakers. I called Rotel and was told to update the firmware. Then I called...

Is the RSX-1065 compatible with Vandersteen 2Wq
                  by astravitz
I'm a bit confused on the technical hook up the Vandersteen 2Wq to a Rotel RSX-1065. It seems they do some sort of preamp off load to change the crossover and then back into the integrated amp. The repsonse I got for Vandersteen was:

THE 2WQ CAN ONLY BE USED WITH INTEGRATED AMPLIFIERS...

                  Classe and Vandersteen?
                  by stimpy44
I am in the market for a new HT setup. So far, I have been impressed by the Classe electronics and am waiting to hear the SSP-800. I heard the Classe SSP-300 paired with a set of B&W 803 S speakers and it sounded great. I also listened to the same B&W speakers with Rotel electronics - there...
