    Leave power on okay?

Does it do any harm to the units (RSP-1098, RMB-1075, RB-1090) to leave the power on most of the time even when not in use?

I have read that with some electronic componets the turning on/off (temperature changes) do more harm than leaving them on all the time.

    Recommendations?

    thanks, OB

    Anyone????????

Someone out there must have an opinion about leaving Rotel 1098, RB1075 and a RB-1090 on all the time vs turning if off and back on once or twice a day.

    thanks, OB

      Hi,

Lots of older threads on this.. Bottom line it is fine to leave them on all the time... I do with my amps as they sound better that way to me... The idle current draw is quite low...

        OB,

I leave my RB-1080 powered on, due to fuse issues.

The 1098 I leave in standby mode.
        The 1095 via 12v trigger.

As Geoff stated there are plenty of threads in reference to this issue, try this one:

        Leaving on Amps

        Best regards,

        Azeke

Wow im curious what you guys pay per month in electric bills for those that leave those monster amps on. I always shut all my electronics off (except computer) after I'm done with them. I noticed a rise in my electric bill with the RMB-1075 over my Harman amp, so I definitely shut it off the millisecond after im dont listening.

If you're not playing the system, it takes very little power to light a few LEDs and the caps stay "charged up" so they're not really pulling juice either. If you want your gear to sound "showroom" quality, leave it on. Never noticed my electric bill jumping up at all.... -L8...
