I think my RVD 1060 just died

 Subject line pretty much says it all.Came home from the shop today, put in a DVD-A,has sound but no menu?? Tried a regular DVD,same thing has sound, but no picture.Checked the connections,it is set to NTSC,is only hooked up componant, and they were ok.Shut off
progressive scan, now has picture, but color is way off.All the general set up menus are ok.I reset the prosessor the way the manual says, still no go.By having a picture of sorts in interlaced, shows that cables are pretty much OK......Looks to me like it died.......any other opinions?????
I am real "BUMMED" :? ...Guess I'll call the dealer tomorrow and get the ball rolling to send it in.

Sorry to hear about your DVD player issues. I'm sure your dealer will take care of you properly.

Greg, check the preferences box in the setup menu. There is a setting for "connections" (I'm not at my player right now but I think that's what its called). The RDV 1060 gives you two options: scart or component. Make dead sure that component is selected, since you're connected to the component outputs. Confirm the setting BEFORE loading any disk in the player. My RDV 1060 sometimes "switches" the setting from component to scart automatically and without reason, especially when I load a DVD-A disk. When this happens the colour disappears and you're left with no picture on the component outputs. Changing the setting back to component, reverts everything to normal again. Sometimes I find I have to remove the disk and switch off the player entirely to clear its memory of the scart setting, before resetting to component. Annoying, yes, but it solves the problem. (One of the reasons why I'm trading my 1060 for a Denon 2900 or 5900.)

        Hope this helps.

RVD 1060 switching to SCART mode....
            by Greg K
I have had the RVD 1060 since last fall, and very intermitantly on power up,it will be in SCART video mode,so therfore no pic over componant. To get it back ,have to switch to interlaced and get just enough picture to access the OSD and reset it.I have read of a couple people on here that have had similar...

            RVD-1080 question
            by DSGCobra
I currently have an RVD-1080, I know it won't play CD-R's. My question is will it play DVD-R's? I am in the market for a new computer and was thinking about getting one with a DVD burner. What about the 1060, will that play DVD-R's?
            Thanks
            Jeff.

Rotel 1060 Video connection with 1098/Plasma.
            by >>Angel<<
            Dear Rotel enthousiasts,

Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
            I really hope...

Decided to return the RDV-1060 for a RCD 1072
            by DUCKY
            Gents,

I originally bought the RDV-1060 aiming to use it for both CD's and DVD's. Unfortunately the unit I received had some issues so I almost immediately had to give it back to the shop for repair.

After my RDV-1060 came back from repair (gone for a month after handling...

            DVD-Audio discs "locking-up" my RDV-1060
            by Cracking Oboe
O.K. after all my praise about the RDV-1060 I have run into a 'glitch' with some DVD-A discs.

I mail ordered all of the Beethoven Symphonies (BPO/Abbado) on DVD-A. These recordings were rated 9/10 in Absolute Sound Magazine, so I was really looking forward to them.
