RVD 1060 switching to SCART mode....

I have had the RVD 1060 since last fall, and very intermitantly on power up,it will be in SCART video mode,so therfore no pic over componant. To get it back ,have to switch to interlaced and get just enough picture to access the OSD and reset it.I have read of a couple people on here that have had similar
problems.I emailed Rotel the other day,and their reply was to get it back to the dealer and send it in,as they have never encountered this problem.Being in the auto repair industry at a new car dealer I know how difficult it is chasing intermittant problems.Therfore I am real leary of sending it in ,and having it sit on a bench for a couple of months not being able to be duplicated.Has anyone had any luck in having this type of intermittant issue resolved??

    Thanks

Who replied so Andrew can check on it? As far as I recalled they knew about it, and knew it had to deal with certain DVDA discs. They were trying to track one down that would do it so they could test it. Thought they were going to release a firmware fix for it and haven't heard much since..

I think it is a softwear feailur. The firmwear would not couse that kinde of trouble. Or am I on "wilde tracks now"?

I believe it was determined that something on certain DVDA discs would actually cause the unit to change to scart. Find out what it is and why, change it in the firmware of the player to not do that, and you've fixed it.

Can't really be a software issue as not every player has a scart connecter and there is no "change to scart" flag encoded anywhere.

I had the same problem with the player switching to scart mode as well as the front speaker settings switching from small to large and the player not playing certain DVD A discs. I contacted Rotel and Mike Sheehan replied. He was familiar with all three issues and offered me several options. I could ship the player back to Rotel, take it to the dealer or he could send me a disc and instructions to follow to correct the problem. I chose the last option. Got the disc the next day, inserted it in the player and its been perfect since then.

I would contact Rotel again tell them to check with Mike Sheehan, he was great.

              Hi,

My RDV 1060 had firmware 2.0.8 and I know this one has several problems with DVD-Audio discs and progressive scan.

I assume the latest software available now is 2.1.2
I have a few questions to owners with that software installed:

              RVD-1080 question
              by DSGCobra
I currently have an RVD-1080, I know it won't play CD-R's. My question is will it play DVD-R's? I am in the market for a new computer and was thinking about getting one with a DVD burner. What about the 1060, will that play DVD-R's?
              Thanks
              Jeff.

Rotel 1060 Video connection with 1098/Plasma.
              by >>Angel<<
              Dear Rotel enthousiasts,

Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
              I really hope...
