    RSP-1066 Sensitive to ligth switches?!

Just notice, after almost 2 years, that when a light is switched on/off a static noise is generated in the outputs of my RSP-1066. Is this a expectable behavior or should I request a repair of my unit?

I’ve been using a Rotel RSX-965 RDS as a temporary replacement, while my RSP-1066 went for service for about 7 months, and I never noticed the same effect on RSX-965. Furthermore, I would swear that I've never noticed that behavior on my RSP-1066 before. Maybe something could be wrong with the last repair ?!

It's expected depending upon the type of switch, the type of light that's on it, and whether or not the switch is on the same circuit as the plug for the 1066.

Basically you need to get with an electrician and find a way to isolate the audio equipment power.

pbarata, a 7 month repair? wow...

A decent line filter will also do the trick, may be cheaper than rewiring. Rewiring may not even be an option, because power outlets and lights rarely share the same circuit or fuse... You may have a demanding light (halogen), or a noisy light (fluorescent), causing dips or noise to travel back up to other circuits.

            I doubt it's a problem with the 1066.

              Hi,

I have a Samsung HDTV Set top box (SIR-T150) connected to my 1066 via a Coax cable and noticed the other day that the Samsung has two Audio output options: PCM and AC-3.

I have been using the the PCM option for a few months now without any problems. In this set up,...

              Pistonic Behavior

Pistonic behavior in a loudspeaker refers to the ideal movement of the driver's diaphragm, where it moves in a piston-like manner. In other words, when the speaker reproduces sound, its diaphragm moves uniformly and maintains a constant relationship between the applied input signal and the resulting sound output. This behavior is crucial for accurate and faithful sound reproduction.

              Characteristics of Pistonic Behavior:

              Hi,
I have an option of buying an RSP1066 or an RSP1068, the different in price is about $400. Can someone give me an opinion on whether it is worth the extra of $400 to get the RSP1068. I am currently using a Denon 3803 as a pre/processor and the RMB1075. Will this upgrade to the Rotel RSP1066...

              by manini
              Hello,
When I connect my sub to de sub-out I have no sound out my subwoofer. It seems dead. I have my front's set to small, subwoofer to Yes in the menu.

The sub works fine on my old receiver, but on the rsp1066 it will not work.

I've bought the rsp1066 second hand....
